- Who we are…

Martin, Hi, great that you've logged onto our web page! Darmstadt-

Eberstadt is the name of my "home area", as we say here in Zimbabwe.

So that's the little town where I was borne in 1969. After finishing school we moved to Rheinhessen (Part of Germany near Frankfurt/Mainz), where I did a placement at an old peoples home.

Afterwards I did a 3 year nursing training.

This medical training I did already with the perspective to use it in Africa.

That God exists I had always known. Just what that means for me I didn't know for a long time. God must be some sort of heavenly police I thought, like the old bearded man in the clouds... Little did I know then, that God is much closer to us then that. After a Christian concert I started going to a evangelical church. Bit by bit I learned that God is right here with us and that he wants to save us and guide us. At the age of 14/15 I realised that God is a personal God and wants a relationship with us, I prayed something like that: "God if you are real, help me to believe in you, forgive the wrong things that I have done and lead me now." God came into my life and turnedit upside down, He gave me real life and leads me ever since. It's great to beon the way with Him! My greatest desire now is that others may meet Him as well , so that they too can have real life! (John10:10).

Two years after I became a Christian, the Lord showed me that I should serve Him one day in Africa. We had missionaries coming to our church and Iread books about it. I also met some Africans and God laid it on my heart to go to this big continent.

So after my nursing training, many OM summer missions and two years at the Irish Bible School, I went for a one year short term mission with WEC to Ghana. There God confirmed my calling. Then I went another two years to a German Bible School near the Black Forest. Here I met my wonderful wife, I'm so grateful for her and that we can serve God together now. We are happy together, we never have arguments, always smile and our pigs are readyto fly :-)

No, only God is a perfect God, praise Him! Now we are in our second year here in Zimbabwe with DMG and SIM and are excited about what God wants to do with us here...

Silke, I was born 1973 in the south of Germany at Heilbronn (near Stuttgart) and trained in the nicest of all professions: Kindergarten teacher ! Since my father is a preacher, I’ve grown up on Christian camps. One day I realised that I’m not automatically a Christian just because I come from a Christian family. God has no “grand children”!

Jesus died for me personally on the cross, because he loves me and wants to change my life for the better.

- On this day I prayed and gave my life into God's hands.

The desire to become a missionary I got through the reading of the amazing biographies of Gladys Alward & Hudson Taylor.

My prayer was: „Lord I want to become such a missionary as well! You can send me anywhere, but please not to Africa where all the ugly snakes and big spiders are... „!

After studying two years at the "New Life-Bible school" near Cologne... I got married - to an Africa Missionary in August 2000. !

January 2002 we went to the German Missionary Fellowship (DMG)

After a three month candidate course and the following teambuilding tour, it was finally time: On the 25th of July 2003 we were on the way (with crammed suitcases and beating hearts) to our new country and home – Zimbabwe.
